Day 3 - The crew finished removing the last header board for the old deck and hauled away all of the deck boards that had been piled up in the back yard.

The footer holes close to the house did not pass county inspection this morning, since footings closer than 5 feet to an exterior house foundation wall must be at the same elevation as the existing house foundation.  Translation: 7 of the 14 holes must be 8 feet deep! The crew plans to get an early start tomorrow to finish digging the last three holes to the required depth. The inspection has been rescheduled for tomorrow.

Meanwhile, lumber for the support structure was delivered, as well as a lot of concrete mix (more will be delivered tomorrow, due to the deeper footers near the house).
